It’s all go ... Firstly, additional information is now available regarding 1917: A link to a Vanity Fair article: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2019/09/1917-one-shot-sam-mendes-interview And a video featuring Sam Mendes and the production team, plus featured actors, explaining more about the filming process: https://twitter.com/i/status/1178685936273694722 There were rumours that it would be one continuous shoot ... so this has turned out to be true. However, why didn’t I know that scenes were being filmed at Bovingdon Airfield, just the other side of Hemel Hempstead? That’s very close to me ... and was this where Richard’s scenes were shot? The film schedule fitted in so well with Richard’s Rocketman press tour commitments, as he wasn’t needed until the last few scenes, in June. And Gemma Chan (Sersi) was spotted filming, for Eternals, in London:
I’ve added updated photos of the Black Park set to my Eternals page. Richard posted a photo of his alarm call for tomorrow morning, via his Instagram story ... it’s set for 3.30am, with a safety alarm at 4.00am ... so is that for the Calvin Klein campaign or for Eternals? Either way, I love it that he’s communicating with his fans again ... just like he used to! With both Mr ‘Darcy’ Madden and Ikaris on the horizon to enjoy ... Richard’s fans never lose!

News leaked out overnight, that Richard is to be the new face of Calvin Klein men’s fragrances! That’s wicked, as men’s fragrances is exactly what I wanted it to be, when he mentioned a link up with a fashion house during an interview at the GQ Event earlier in the month! And to make it even more special, Richard is spending three days filming for the campaign ... which will include a Mr Darcy-inspired lake scene!!! OMG ... what more can a girl wish for??? I wouldn’t normally post a Mail Online link ... as they are one of the worst for printing paparazzi photos of Richard ... but they did break the Calvin Klein news: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7516427/Bodyguard-star-Richard-Madden-new-face-Calvin-Kleins-fragrances.html So Richard may have to watch out for ‘Swimmers Itch’ after all! There was a Throwback Thursday last week, with Richard posting a picture of himself and his mum ... poor little Richard, he appears to be on the verge of tears: #TBT (Throwback Thursday) to my first day at school. Equal measures of worry and attitude, not much changed since … Love you mum – STYLE! #fashionweek … (I’m wearing shorts I didn’t forget my trousers)

And I’ve finally started my next creative project, after 13 days procrastination ... and it’s another crocheted snood! I would have got more done today, if the Calvin Klein news hadn’t broken overnight!!!

Firstly, confirmation that Bodyguard didn’t win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series – that honour went to Game of Thrones. Jed Mercurio didn’t win the Writing for a Drama Series Award either. Richard has been part of the judging panel for the 2020 GQ Grooming Awards, which take place in Mayfair, London on 01 October – a number of the judges do attend the annual ceremony … but I guess it all depends on Richard’s Eternals commitments! https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/grooming/article/gq-grooming-awards-2020-judges Richard has a close association with the Mr Porter brand which has launched a Health In Mind (HIM) campaign in association with Movember, to support health and wellness initiatives for men. There is a fundraising event scheduled for 10 October in London ... but I don’t know where yet! I guess he may attend, if his Eternals commitments don’t prevent this! Good news, regarding the British Academy Scotland Awards 2019. Richard has been nominated in the Actor Television category for his portrayal of David Budd in Bodyguard, alongside Alex Ferns (Chernobyl) and Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education): http://www.bafta.org/media-centre/press-releases/british-academy-scotland-awards-in-2019-nominations-announced Again, attendance is dependent upon his Eternals commitments, with filming due to take place on location in Lanzarote at that time. Filming in Fuerteventura commences during October. Whilst attending a number of red carpet events, in relation to Richard, I’ve made a number of new friends, including one named Simon. He told me the story of his meeting with Richard during the Film Baftas back in February. He shouted “Mr Madden, Mr Madden, Mr Madden” to get Richard’s attention; so Richard came over to him and said “What did you just call me?”, to which Simon replied “Mr Madden”. Richard answered “Mr Madden is my father”. Naturally he then posed for a selfie. Simon also asked for an autograph, to which Richard jokingly said “You’re pushing your luck”, before obliging! And we’ll end today with a cute picture from the Cinderella press tour/premieres era ...

Autumn is officially here ... tomorrow to be precise! My least favourite season of the year ... Richard, who was (and probably still is) a dinosaur fan, has built a Lego Tyrannosaurus Rex to pass away the time, this damp Sunday ... whilst also enjoying watching the Singapore Grand Prix! I notice his GQ Award takes pride of place on the mantelpiece! I love Lego, and dinosaurs (my favourites are stegosaurus and triceratops) and Richard ... but not motor racing!!! Someone has discovered a location for the filming of Eternals; a National Trust site in Surrey. Angelina Jolie (Thena) was spotted (wearing a blonde wig); also seen were Gemma Chan (Sersi) and Barry Keoghan (Druig). There is advice online to avoid swimming in the water, due to the parasites which inhabit the green algae ... evidently it can cause swimmers itch ... what? It's not serious if you contract this, fortunately, as humans aren’t a good host for the parasites and the rash disappears within just a few days!!! Hopefully Ikaris won't be needed for filming at this particular site, or at least not be required to enter the water!!!
The production has encountered a problem with the prospective filming in Tenerife ... they are not allowed to use drones, so that particular schedule has been cancelled, with just Fuerteventura and Lanzarote continuing as planned. I’ve added a translation of a newspaper article about this, to my Eternals page. I took my cross-stitch project to a local gallery yesterday, to be framed professionally. One of the owners, Ralph, was very helpful and it transpires that he knows Dexter Fletcher, the director of Rocketman! Dexter is a relative’s relative! The topic came up, due to the theme of the picture!!! I was also able to recommend UniqueDichroic, because he admired the earrings I was wearing and wanted to buy something unusual for his partner for her birthday!!! I’m always being complimented on my UniqueDichroic earrings ... at the Asda check-out in Aintree, in the lift at a hotel in Glasgow and whilst having my photo taken for a passport renewal!!! And, finally, it’s now four years since Choc Thornton announced his official retirement – although his career ending injury actually occurred in April 2014. L This is a photograph of a very young Robert ... so cute!!! Fingers crossed that there’s an Ikaris-related photograph soon .... And another final thing; It Takes Two is being broadcast on BBC1 at 17:15 for the next two weeks ... that’s not viewer-friendly, for those people who work. And, finally finally ... good luck to the Bodyguard team at tonight’s Emmy Awards! Although how the programme can be nominated, but its star is not, I just don’t know.

It’s fairly quiet on the Madden front ... with filming of the Eternals having commenced ... or about to commence ... But Richard has been to visit a Dental Care practice this week, in London, to commence a course of teeth-whitening! So, not only will Ikaris have super-powers, he’ll also be able to completely dazzle us with his brilliant white smile!!!
Richard also bumped into Simon Cellan-Jones, the director of the series Klondike in which he starred (2014), again in London.
Richard didn’t attend the TV Choice Awards on Monday ... but I didn’t expect him too. Bodyguard won the Best New Drama Series category, but Richard didn't get enough public votes to win Best Actor; Adrian Dunbar, from Line of Duty, won that award. And I’ve proofed and uploaded my diary from the GQ Men of the Year Awards. I downloaded the digital version of Rocketman earlier today ... I’ve ordered the DVD (and the Blu-ray version for when I upgrade) ... but couldn’t wait another couple of weeks to watch it! I’ve been busy today too, having cleared the wild flower garden ahead of the autumn. I know there is something slightly suspicious about me doing some gardening ... but I think it was a little bit over the top when next door’s whippet, Buzz, decided to growl at me AND a police helicopter hovered overhead for a few minutes too!!!

Richard never fails to deliver ... this photo is from the recent GQ shoot in connection with their Men of the Year Awards: You won’t be surprised to learn, that this photo is now my new laptop screensaver ... Richard attended, and won the Hugo Boss Most Stylish Man of the Year award ... Taron attended too, and won the Best Actor Award. As you can see below, I went along too ... I should have gone earlier, I arrived at about 10:00am, and was 34th in the queue to view; second row. Although I would love a selfie when he’s not wearing sunglasses and is dressed in a tuxedo too ... I can wait for the right moment, as it’s such a great pleasure just to see this very beautiful and lovely man at close quarters. My friend Ruth, a fellow fan, came along too and was thrilled to see Richard in the flesh for the very first time!!!
And other people’s photos ... he’s looking very chiselled following his training ahead of the Eternals commencing filming ... and, if you check out recent photos, he’s definitely been developing his biceps!!!
GQ has produced 11 Limited Edition cover issues featuring each of its winners ... Taron’s sold out on a site I use regularly, ahead of Richard’s ... luckily I ordered mine before Richard’s also ran out!!! There was added excitement at the Tate Modern yesterday, when someone decided to climb over the edge of a balcony and threatened to jump from a great height ... fortunately, they were talked out of it, in the end. Last Friday evening, Richard attended the theatre – he went to see Fleabag at the Wyndhams Theatre ... it was posted on social media, and he also posted a photo of his ticket ... so it’s okay to report!!! My next project is my diary ... my cross-stitch project is almost finished!
