Richard
has been busy again, attending the US Premiere of Rocketman
in New York yesterday evening. Jamie Bell
attended too, as his wife has now given birth to a baby daughter. If he is looking for a couple of
godfathers, I can think of two very suitable guys!!! |

I went to
see Rocketman on Saturday and will be going again
with my friend Lesley on Friday evening. The film
was fine; Taron Egerton
was very good in the leading role and Richard too, although his screen time
is limited. The well-publicised
same-sex love scene between the characters Elton John (Taron)
and John Reid (Richard) wasn’t graphic; I wouldn’t describe it as ‘making love’ ... it was just sex! A lot of the footage must have ended up on
the cutting room floor!!! I wasted
two hours of my life later on Saturday, endeavouring to collect a package
sent by Amazon ... the courier company was unable to find it at the depot and
I’ll have to wait until tomorrow for it to be redelivered. Why do they send packages to be signed for,
by courier? It was solely a
pre-ordered CD, so I had no idea of the delivery date when I purchased it –
the Rocketman soundtrack. After a
productive day yesterday, a spider ran across my pillow just before I went to
bed so, after searching for it for around 30 minutes with vacuum cleaner in
hand, I gave up and had to spend the night in an armchair! I planted
out bedding plants today and endeavoured to find the spider ... but it has
eluded me! As
suggested on Friday, Richard headed to Monaco for yesterday’s Grand Prix; he
was a guest of Tag Heuer, which was celebrating 50
years association with the race. There
was a good result for the Brits too, with Lewis Hamilton triumphing! |

Finally
it’s Friday and I still feel worn out ... I started doing some
cross-stitching yesterday evening, sat back to take a short break ... only to
wake up at gone 01:00! Despite it
being a Bank Holiday weekend, I fear I have far more tasks to continue or
complete than I’ll have time available. I’m going
to see Rocketman tomorrow lunchtime, and then I have
to visit Dunstable to pick up an Amazon package which dpd
failed to deliver because my elderly mother didn’t hear the doorbell sound; I
think she was vacuuming – so that’s around 90 minutes wasted! |

Richard
has left New York and travelled back to Nice Airport ... although the Cannes
Film Festival is still underway, I wonder if he is going to attend the Monaco
Grand Prix this weekend. Richard
doesn’t really like sport, but he does like fast cars and when pushed for an
answer, he said he’d have to choose Formula 1 over all other sports! Whilst
Richard has been visiting New York, Taron Egerton has been travelling to Seoul and Sydney to
publicise the film. |

Just to prove that I spent Sunday
night in Leicester Square, here is the deserted pavement in front of the
Odeon Luxe cinema; the letters would be revealed
from within the bubble-wrap in all of their glory on the day of the
Premiere. I took this photo at 02:15
in the morning!!!
I’m very
tired again today, and still feeling rather sad ... oh well, I need to think
positively and maybe my own personal experience of meeting Richard will be
even better than the average and very much worth the wait. Fingers crossed.
However, I
have found time to update the Rocketman page and
must begin drafting my diary relating to the London Premiere. |

Richard is
due to appear on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow; filmed in New
York. Also upon Good Morning America. Another
appearance to look forward to, which has already been recorded, is Richard
Madden talking with Amy Adams upon Variety’s Actors on Actors – it’s another Emmy Awards promo. Here is a snippet and I understand the
full version will be available from Tuesday 18 June 2019: |

Just time
for a very brief blog tonight ... as it’s almost midnight as I start to write
it!
As you can
see, I saw Richard ... in fact a lot of Richard from a crowd pen at the UK
Premiere of Rocketman but ... there is a but L and that’s not a butt! I went without
sleep for 40 hours, having spent Sunday night in Leicester Square, which has
lumbered me with a parking fine of £60 as a result because I didn’t collect
my car before 04:00 on Monday but I did manage to get a front row spot,
opposite the Odeon doors as a result. So,
everything went to plan despite the discomfort, until the final hurdle ... at
which point I fell and I’m destroyed.
Richard was generous in signing numerous autographs and allowing
people to take selfies; but he missed me out, he
went to the people to my left, was called away only to return, but then went
to those just to my right and missed me and the lady next to me who wanted a selfie too. I was
gutted ... in fact I was distraught. I
was tearful on my way home; I cried myself to sleep and was still tearful
when I woke up this morning. I thought
I was all cried out, but I’m now tearful writing about it. I’m miles
behind now, and need to update my website with all of the news and links
which have appeared since Friday; and my special project is way off course,
sadly, too. |

here is a link (32 minutes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6kHyAWuQ4Y There is
an opportunity to vote for this year’s TV Choice Awards; votes for the shortlist
close on 31 May 2019, with the ceremony taking place at The Hilton on Park
Lane, London, on Monday 09 September. https://awards.tvchoicemagazine.co.uk/ This
appears to be the link I’ve been searching for, for a while, from the
Leicester Square website, explaining details of Monday’s Rocketman
Premiere: https://www.leicestersquare.london/uk-film-premiere-rocketman/ And I’ve
booked to see Rocketman a week tomorrow, at the
Odeon in Hatfield. J |

Richard
arrived in Cannes yesterday, via Nice Airport. And what a
day it’s been ... wall-to-wall Rocketman ... which means
only one thing ... wall-to-wall Richard Madden! If you
have a spare 21 minutes you can watch the official Premiere arrival video: And here
are a number of photos ... the first three relate to this morning’s
photo-call, followed by Richard being cheeky at lunch-time. The next
couple you just won’t believe ... Richard’s hair stylist, Charley Mcewen, showing us just how it’s done ... turning a
beautiful man into an even more beautiful man!!! |

And if you
wish to take a look at the myriad of official photographs from today’s events
in Cannes: Cannes 2019 - Getty Images - Rocketman Cannes 2019 - Rex Images - Rocketman Jamie
Bell, who plays Bernie Taupin, was unable to attend
because his wife is due to have a baby at any time! As a
result of all this news from Cannes, I’ve been having a totally unproductive
day, as my mind has been there too! I’ve also
been feeling very emotional and tearful ... I guess it must be another
side-effect of Maddenitis!!! My work colleagues laughed at me for
feeling this way, and my sunglasses came in very handy for hiding behind;
I’ve been wearing them at work recently because I’ve become more sensitive to
the screen glare and ceiling lights too.
Not
surprisingly, I haven’t done any of my ‘special
project’ this evening, or at least not yet (and it’s gone 22:00) ... or
my racing blog either!!! |

There’s news today that Richard is a candidate
for a Golden Nymph award at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, having been
nominated for Best Actor in a TV Drama Series for his role in Bodyguard. Keeley Hawes has been nominated as Best
Actress in a TV Drama Series and Bodyguard as Best TV Drama Series. Both Keeley and the Executive Producer Simon
Heath have confirmed their attendance, but I presume Richard will be engaged
filming 1917 at that time. The
Festival takes place between 14 and 18 June 2019. https://www.tvfestival.com/en/competition/golden-nymph Today’s
photo offering is one of the Polaroids, and a
reject, taken as part of the Guardian Weekend article. Enjoy … Richard’s cuteness is to die for!!! |

|
|
|||
|
There’s a GIF too, where he’s being playful: https://twitter.com/i/status/1125066691778576389 Someone on twitter seems to have spotted Richard
in Glasgow today, so hopefully he’ll be on his way to Cannes very shortly,
with family and friends. Taron Egerton arrived today, by
helicopter! I’m also
well jealous, as one of my nieces has flown out to Cannes too. Kim leads the team who develop new flavours
of Magnum ice creams … a Magnum Party is held during the Festival, although
this year the party does clash with the Rocketman
World Premiere! I’ve told her to keep
a look out for my favourite man!!! |

As predicted,
Richard didn’t attend the BAFTA TV Awards yesterday, so here is a very cute
picture of him with his beloved niece Eilidh
instead, posted by Richard himself in September 2017:
I did,
however, decide upon a day out in London ... it’s the only way one learns
about obtaining wristbands for these star-studded events, along with the
perils and pitfalls. As you can see I got
in, but only just, despite arriving at 08:00 in the morning. And here
we have Keeley Hawes and James Norton!
I’m now
looking forward to news of the World Premiere in Cannes of Rocketman on Thursday and, hopefully, organising a trip
to the UK London Premiere at the beginning of next week. |

As mentioned
earlier in the week, Richard and Keeley Hawes attended a Netflix FYSEE
Bodyguard Screening plus Q & A in Los Angeles last night and here are a
couple of photographs taken at the event. I’m loving
his new jacket, sourced by @Stylegazer1 (aka Gareth Scourfield) |

|
|
|
||
|
And
there’s more ‘sound bites’
regarding Bodyguard 2: Bodyguard 2 could have a time jump,
reveals Richard Madden This is the latest list of TV BAFTA attendees;
there’s no mention of Richard, so I guess he won’t attend unless there is a
last minute change: It would
have been lovely to see him, if he’d had a nomination ... oh well, hopefully
there will be an opportunity at some point over the next two or three months.
And that
leads into Stylegazer1 posting the picture as published in this month’s GQ
magazine ... mentioning Cannes (16 May) and the imminent Rocketman
release ... fingers crossed Richard will be walking the red carpet there and in
London on 20 May too. J
Next
weekend, plus Monday, are going to be very busy ... I’m going to Hammersmith
to see the Strictly Tour on Saturday, with my friend Lesley, and endeavouring
to get a wristband for the Rocketman Premiere red
carpet viewing. These may be handed
out on Monday ... or even Sunday, as I understand popular premieres issue
them the day before!!! Unfortunately
my budget doesn’t stretch to attending the premiere itself ... although I did
go to a couple in the early 1980s – The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).
Come to think of it, that was before Richard was even born! It’s all
go ... and I haven’t even booked to see Rocketman
yet! |

Here we have Taron
Egerton and Richard pictured at Monday’s Met Ball The
Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ news as
reported by The Wrap: https://www.thewrap.com/richard-madden-marvel-studios-the-eternals/ I will
have to unsubscribe to Horse and Hound and subscribe to film magazines
instead! And this
photo is from the publicity surrounding Cinderella (2015/2016) ... very
pretty! I’m
looking forward to setting up my Cinderella page ... as there are just so
many videos available on YouTube. Mind
you, it may not happen until mid-July, as I have two busy weekends coming up,
followed by an urgent project. |

Richard
attended last night’s Met Ball in New York ... but he played it safe with
this black Dior ensemble:
He will be
attending a SAG-AFTRA Bodyguard screening plus Q & A this coming
Thursday, 09 May, in Los Angeles; Keeley Hawes will also be in attendance. There are rumours
that Richard is in talks to star in Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ ... not quite what I had in mind ... and it’s also
reported that it will be filmed out of Atlanta, not the UK as previously
planned. |

As
expected, Richard attended a special Bodyguard FYC (For Your Consideration)
Netflix event in New York City yesterday, along with Keeley Hawes, Jed Mercurio and Executive Producer Simon Heath; these events
are connected to the Emmys which take place in
September:
He
revealed that his favourite scene in Bodyguard is the ‘under the bed sheet’ scene, with Keeley ... although the
cameraman was also under the covers with them! Keeley’s not so sure about his choice ...
He’s met
up with Taron Egerton in
New York too, who will also be attending the Met Ball this evening. I like Taron and
I just love their ‘Bromance’!
In Carpool Karaoke terms, they are known as
Handsome Chicken and Big Fluffy Pillow Lips!
So, tonight,
we are looking forward to seeing photos of the guys at the Met Ball, styled
by Gareth Scourfield (aka @Stylegazer1)! And,
hopefully after that, Richard heading across to the UK for his role in the
Sam Mendez film 1917! |

Today’s
update from ‘Madden World’:
Madden featured in the Guardian’s Weekend Supplement today and here is a link
to the online version ... it’s an interesting read, with nothing to shock an
already well-informed admirer and supporter like myself!
Anyway, it
is a concern to me that, since ‘officially’
moving to Los Angeles, Richard has encountered a severe problem with
paparazzi photographers stalking his every move. In addition to earlier encounters, this week
members of the paparazzi caught him jogging, walking, jogging again,
shopping, jogging yet again, and walking; he’s getting fit ahead of his role
in the film 1917 which has already begun shooting in the UK. And, oh
dear, I’ve just seen another set of paparazzi photos taken yesterday ... I
can’t avoid seeing the photos whilst looking for official news, but would
never dream of reposting them, unlike others who just cannot resist. L Understandably
he’s not amused by this turn of events.
Richard really deserves some down-time, having been in the public
spotlight for months – Bodyguard, Bodyguard publicity, Awards season, Rocketman publicity, more Bodyguard publicity relating to
the Emmys which take place in September, etc,
etc. Hopefully
we Brits will be more respectful when he arrives ahead of filming his part in
1917 ... With Rocketman in mind, here are a couple of videos relating
to Richard appearing in the US version of GQ: https://twitter.com/i/status/1123226246123479040 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZXgAgvxwB4&feature=youtu.be And a very recent interview via Indiewire: https://www.indiewire.com/2019/05/richard-madden-bodyguard-netflix-emmy-1202130259/ Richard is due in New York tomorrow, Sunday, in connection with
another Bodyguard screening in relation to the Emmys;
Jed Mercurio, Keeley Hawes and Executive Producer
Simon Heath are also due to attend. The Met Ball takes place on Monday evening, also in New York, and he’s
rumoured to be attending ... possibly dressed in pink!!! This is
good news for Richard, who is due to return to his drama college in July to
receive an honorary degree: Richard Madden to receive honorary
degree from Royal Conservatoire this summer |
