Happy Fathers’ Day

For six years, Richard has been involved in supporting the Father and Son Day initiative based at the Royal Marsden Hospital so, yesterday, he posted a message to help raise funds for this worthy cause, which deals with male cancers.

Here is a link to Richard’s message, posted from his base in California, with details of how to donate:

And you will love this gif: https://twitter.com/i/status/1274635643822505984 ... I can just imagine Richard saying hello to me, over and over again … despite, of course, the gif being silent!!!

Here we have a number of screenshots too, taken from Richard’s IG post … and also featuring his dad, Richard senior!

And you will gather from these screen-shots, that I’ve been experimenting with a couple of photo apps I have on my phone … Square Pic and SquareQuick … and I find it very addictive, especially when photos of Richard are involved!!!

Here are two more of my experimental photos - the ‘heart’ is an out-take photograph from the Guardian Weekend magazine article, published in May 2019.  The other from the UK premiere of Cinderella, in 2015.

This month, I’ve created a number of pages for my Filmography, links at the top of this page … with more to follow, hopefully, in the next few days. J

It’s a very special day today as, 34 years ago, Richard entered the world …

Many happy returns of the day to our very special and very beautiful man.

Thank you for bringing immense joy and happiness to your many admirers throughout the world,

brightening our lives by your presence within it.

We shall continue to treasure you deep within our hearts,

and we look forward to following your career for many years to come.

Take care Richard, and please stay safe during this difficult time.

Richard shared birthday wishes from a number of his friends …

And, of course, thanked everyone for their kind birthday wishes …

There are a few ‘murmurings’ regarding Eternals …

It has been suggested that extra scenes for Eternals are going to be shot in the Canary Islands ...

And to affirm that reshoots, as with all movies, will be taking place, Salma Hayek who plays Ajak, has dyed her grey roots in preparation!!!

For me, it’s far too late to worry about grey hair … I was growing my hair longer, before the lockdown, but it was supposed to be in a controlled manner!!!

Monday 08 June 2020

Today I’ve been busy setting up a number of new pages on my website – namely Cinderella, Klondike and Be Near Me; links within the Filmography.

I’m currently suffering from demotivation; having worked at home for four weeks before being furloughed.  I don’t know what the future may hold … especially at my age L

The current highlights of my days, apart from daydreaming of Richard, are walking 3 to 4 times a week and watching Escape to the Country!!!

I’ve made numerous cheap and cheerful necklaces … but, despite having many crochet and knitting projects to commence, I’ve only made one crochet snood since the beginning of May, and that was using the leftovers from three previous projects.

I’m not taking any chances with regards to the pandemic; all walks are from home, I go supermarket shopping just three times every fortnight, and the furthest I’ve driven is two circular tours of the local area (to Wheathampstead and to Harpenden/Redbourn) to ensure my car’s battery doesn’t go flat.

I have purchased an assortment of material to make masks but, so far, have managed to create just four … well, I did say I was feeling demotivated.

I met up with my friend Lesley at Verulamium Park a couple of weeks ago and we spent over two hours chatting, so that was very nice. And I keep in regular contact with three of my work colleagues too, via WhatsApp.

Richard has been busy, supporting the ‘Black Lives Matter’ campaign, peacefully protesting in California; at Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevard to name but two protests.

He is a good man, although I do worry about safety with Covid-19 still a serious issue.
