Richard is
back in London and, yesterday, met up with celebrity photographer and friend,
Andy Gotts at the Fleming Mayfair Hotel. It’s Andy’s
favourite haunt, for photo-shoots; he recently photographed Taron Egerton at the
hotel. It’s great
to see Richard looking so happy ... after a few trials and tribulations this
Spring ...
Richard co-signed a number of ‘contact-sheet’ prints and here he is
looking very beautiful, posing with an example ... and just look at those Ikaris-style muscles he’s been developing during the past
few weeks!
And, at this point, I
ought to confess that I have a signed photo of Richard, taken by Andy, which
was sold earlier in the year in aid of Comic Relief ...
And talking of more photos ... my handbag is
getting heavier by the day ... sadly it’s not cash, but my favourite pictures
of Richard, which I continue to feel the need to carry around with me ... and
I added two more today ...
I wonder
if Richard will attend the GQ Men of the Year Awards next Tuesday, 03
September, held at the Tate Modern in London.
He walked their red carpet in 2014 and 2018, so one never knows with
the proviso of course that he doesn’t have a prior engagement that evening in
the form of filming Eternals! He’s
definitely my Man of the Year YYYYYYY ... Bodyguard having
premiered on August Bank Holiday 2018. |

The Eternals cast appeared at the D23 Expo in
Anaheim, California, yesterday morning.
Richard was in attendance, along with new cast member Barry Keoghan who plays an Eternals villain, Druig. Gemma Chan was also confirmed as Sersi, although she was unable to attend the event. Here is yesterday’s introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzB03eojWNA Rumours abound regarding the movie’s storyline –
initial rumours when the movie was first mooted last year, was that the story
would revolve around Sersi, with a love story
between her and Ikaris. However, a more recent rumour is that one
of the super-heroes will be portrayed as gay ... which Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed yesterday; “The Eternals will feature
Marvel’s first openly gay character ... he’s married and has a family and
it’s part of who he is.” This being the case, the prevailing opinion on
the internet is that Ikaris is the hot favourite to
be this LGBTQ+ character. But, as
the character has not been named, it’s still speculation. Surely sexuality doesn’t define who a
super-hero (or human being) is, so I’m adamant that we will love Ikaris and find him wildly attractive and sexy regardless
of whether this rumour turns out to be true; how couldn’t you simply adore Ikaris when he’s played by someone as gorgeous as
Richard? Especially if he’s wearing
this official artist-created super-hero outfit ... |

I’d seen that Richard’s hair is getting longer,
ahead of the Ikaris role ... but wow ... and the
curls are back!!! And to say that I’m mesmorised by his beautiful blue eyes is an understatement!!! |

This is
the Eternals’ teaser: |

Earlier in the week, Richard was spotted in London,
riding his bike ... This was posted online, and it isn’t a paparazzi
photo. The first thing that came to my
mind was the fact that Richard isn’t wearing hi viz; okay, so I realise that
he wants to travel incognito, but his safety on the road is of the utmost
importance. He’s far too precious and
adored to take any kind of unnecessary risk.
After that, I spent time admiring his lovely long legs!!! Richard doesn’t seem too amused to be held up,
although he is waiting to cross a main thoroughfare ... I wonder what the
workman is saying? “Look guys, it’s
David Budd” maybe.
|
|
|
Then, on Friday, Richard posted a photo of his car
and his location via his Instagram account – this is the Griffith Observatory
overlooking LA ... so we had an inkling that he’d attend the D23 Expo!!! Evidently it’s a Jaguar F-type R ... boys
and their toys! |

Talking of cars, I’m
beginning to wonder if I should drive to work ... Thameslink
let me down yet again on Friday evening.
Evidently the overhead electric cables were damaged once more, and in
the usual area near Kentish Town. I
was travelling back from Luton but got stuck at Harpenden; after waiting a
number of minutes, the driver told us that the train service was
abandoned. Unlike a fortnight ago
when I decided to wait at the station until firm news came through, at which
point I had to catch a bus home, I immediately took the decision to catch a
bus (or rather two buses) to reach my destination. On the last occasion my journey time was
extended by 2 hours and 50 minutes, this time by just 35 minutes – mainly
because my bus ‘connection’ was
immediate. I had plans for this weekend, or at least for
yesterday, but the initial plan was cancelled due to someone’s illness, and the
back-up outing cancelled not because of transport issues, but because of the
non-availability, shall we say, of a vital ingredient ... LOL!!! |

I’ve now purchased two further Eternals comic
series on Kindle ... I’m so looking forward
to this Marvel movie, because Richard will feature very strongly. The filming schedule which has been
mentioned is September 2019 until January 2020. However, due to the special effects required
to complete it, the premiere date isn’t until November 2020!!! Obviously I’ll be hoping to obtain a place within
the red carpet crowd pens for its UK premiere, but it won’t be easy due to
the popularity of the Marvel franchise and the fact that it’s usually cold
and damp in November ... and my advanced years won’t help either! I guess I’ll need to book a hotel room for
a couple of nights when the time comes.

It remains quiet on the ‘Madden front’ ... So here is a link to the full length extended
version of Honky Cat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c6A9COlD5U Richard posted to his IG stories on Friday ... he
loves dogs and this is Hector, which opinion believes to be his friend Jeremy
Langmead’s dog. Hector is an old ‘friend’ and there are historical photos of the Great Dane on
Richard’s IG account, from the time when Richard was dating Jenna Coleman ...
perhaps they used to ‘dog sit’.
I’ve purchased Kindle editions of the first two
Eternal comics; the first one was created back in 1976, when the fashion for
men’s hair was longer ...
It’s occurred to me that Choc used to have ‘Ikaris-style’
hair!!! I’ve also just realised that
it’s another kissing photo!!!
And finally, another cute cartoon from one of the
very talented social media artists; this is Richard with actress Vanessa
Kirby during February’s New York Fashion week: |

The
weekend is almost over and, once more, I feel that I’ve accomplished very
little ... Saturdays and Sundays just fly by ... but next weekend is a Bank
Holiday weekend, so will last three days J |

I had a
nightmare start to the weekend, getting caught up in the train issues on Thameslink on Friday evening. Fortunately I only had to travel back from
Luton town centre ... but, expecting the problems to resolve within a short
time, I spent around 1 hour and 45 minutes at the station before everyone
gave up and sought other transport options to journey to their destinations. For me,
this meant catching a bus to St Albans City centre, then another bus from
there to reach home, because it’s just too far for me to walk now that my
pelvis issue has flared up again. Thus
I got home at 20:45 ... having left work at 17:00 ... and it’s only 10 miles
in distance!!! But I guess I’m
fortunate that I wasn’t stuck in London like many others. It’s still very quiet, with the cast of Eternals
preparing for the start of filming ... But there are rumours that Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich
Asians and Humans) and Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk and
Chernobyl) are in talks to join the cast of the movie. |

Gemma and Richard have
been friends for a long time – pictured here in
California, at the 2019 Golden Globes and the 2019 SAG Awards respectively. |

Here is the mug
featuring one of the photographs I took in Glasgow, plus a very fitting
line from Elton John’s Your Song (lyrics by Bernie Taupin);
I ordered it through Snapfish and am very happy with the result of this and
the photos I ordered too. |

Since 06 January this year, I’ve been a member of
the facebook group “Richard Madden Appreciation Society” https://www.facebook.com/groups/301876297084646/ And, last
week, one of the members, Kathy (there are over 850 members currently)
suggested the ‘game’ whereby one
chooses one of Richard’s characters to marry, one to ‘screw’, and one to dislike (kill being far too harsh). I chose: David Budd to marry because a bodyguard always
needs a bodyguard Ikaris (aka Ike Harris) as
my lover And, of course, John Reid (from Rocketman) to dislike And the reasons I chose Ikaris
... who I think will be a very handsome and sexy superhero ... are: 1.
Because it would be an unworldly experience 2.
Because he’d have thousands of years’ experience as a lover 3.
He couldn’t turn me down for a ‘date’
on the grounds of age ... because he’d be the cradle-snatcher 4.
Ikaris would also be able to carry me over his bedroom
threshold without risk of sustaining a hernia ... This caption spoken by Thena,
from the Eternals comic-book which I recently purchased, suggests I may have
made a very wise choice!!! |

A very cute photo of a
young Richard, posted via a fan’s
Instagram account, namely @scottishrichardmadden |
I’ve finally finished
my Colourwheel crocheted snood, after working on it for 7
months. It took so long because when nearing
the end on the first occasion, I found a small
mistake ... so had to take it back to row 6 or 7!!! |
|
|
|
|
And last but not
least, because I’ve been neglecting Choc Thornton for the past few months ...
here are two photos of
Choc riding out at his place of work, Appletree
Stud, last week. His mount is Medermit, a talented racehorse, now retired ... as is Choc for
race-riding following a neck/spine injury in 2014. |

It’s very quiet on the ‘Madden front’ at present, with Richard and the cast of Eternals
training and preparing for their roles in the movie! However, the first trailer for 1917 was released
during the week, although he doesn’t appear in this he is mentioned, because
he plays one of two leading character’s older brother! Check out the new filmography link above
... Back to Eternals, I’ve bought a copy of the
Eternals story-book ...
There is more Marvel
fan-art relating to Richard as Ikaris ...
personally, I’m looking forward to owning a 12-inch action figure of his
character! Although I have visions of fights breaking out as full-grown women
make a beeline for these at stockists! LOL!
I’ve ordered a Richard Madden mug, created using
one of the photos I took in Glasgow.
And professional prints of the photos too, including my two selfies. I want a
photo umbrella too ... but which of my photos to choose? And maybe a cushion or pillowcase or two!!! |
